Do you have a Vegan option?
The Marinara is your vegan answer! Crushed San Marzano tomato sauce, garlic, oregano, extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil. We don't use eggs in our dough. We do recommend adding other vegetarian toppings to enhance the flavor of your Marinara.
Do you have a gluten free option?
We used to carry a gluten free crust. The gluten exposure in our small kitchen however caused too many issues.
What is the Style of the Pizza?
The style is wood fired, thin crust Neapolitan-style. Most of our ingredients are fresh and locally sourced if possible. We create our dough from scratch.
Pizzas are made to order: we hand stretch, top and bake the pizza for you while you wait. Since the crust is so thin, it only takes approximately 90 seconds to bake in the wood fired oven.
As far as toppings; less = more. The crust is too thin for a large quantity of toppings. But the fresh flavors make up for it.
Sit down, relax and take time to enjoy the artisan flavors of Naples!
What is the Size of the pizza?
The size is approximately 11 - 12 inches. We consider it personal size, but it all depends on your appetite. We cut the pizza into four slices.
THE LUNCH SPECIAL
Every Monday - Friday from 11am - 2pm we offer you a Lunch Special;
1/2 a pizza of your choice + 1/2 an insalata (arugula, balsamic vinegar, pears, gorgonzola). Prices start at $8 for your perfect lunch portion.
Why is my pizza Moist and do the toppings slide off?
Welcome to the Neapolitan Pizza Style! The hand-crushed tomato sauce, fresh mozzarrella (dry mozzerrella is optional), vegetables and olive oil create a higher moist content. Which results in a gooey, difficult to eat, but delicious pie. You can read more about a traditonal Neapolitan Pizza here.
How do you suggest I eat a Neapoltian-Style pizza?
Like Julia!
For a more Crispy pizza, what do I ask at the cash register?
We always strive to be as accommodating as possible. We cannot change this Neapolitan pizza style into a crispy New York-style, or a heavy on the toppings-type pizza. Check our About page for Neapolitan Pizza reference. Please make your preference known at the cash register.
You can ask for dry mozzarella instead of fresh mozzarella. The pizzaiolo can bake the pizza a little longer for you, which will result in more charring of the crust. You can choose a pizza, light on tomato sauce, vegetables, or other high moist content- toppings.
Do you sell anything Else besides pizzas?
Pizza Napoletana is our specialty of course. We do sell two types of salads. The garlic flat bread is our only, but very popular appetizer. Garlic, Parmesan Cheese and Oregano, paired with a delicious Marinara Dip. Please look at our menu for all options.
Do you sell Seasonal Pizzas?
We pride ourselves in occassionally selling pizzas that are inspired by major sports events. Especially if a Bay Area local team rises to exciting play off levels.
We are always open for community input / suggestions!

What is the story of the Oven?
During the summer of 2011, the owner became an apprentice at a pizzeria in Napels.
He learned how to finetune his knowledge and skills. He handpicked the glass tiles with copper inserts for the authentic Neapolitan Pizza Bocca Lupo oven.
Il forno was built by a third generation Neapolitan pizza-oven building family.
It took three months to get the oven shipped from Naples to the port of Oakland. Just in time for the opening of San Pedro Square Market on September 15, 2011!
What is the Temperature of the oven?
The oven runs at around 900 Fahrenheit. The pizza bakes in about 90 seconds. It is solely powered by almond wood.
